Curriculum Leader, Nido Early School Willetton
I have simultaneously worked towards my Bachelor of Education (majoring in Early Childhood Education), whilst also working with children aged 0 – 6 years in Early Learning centres. I also have extensive experience working for not-for-profits companies as well as within low socio economic areas. My professional experience ranges from qualified educator roles to director of an early childhood centre. At the moment, I am working in the role of Curriculum Leader at Nido Early School and love having the opportunity to apply the Reggio Emilia approach in all day-to-day activities.
‘I choose to view children as capable and provide them with opportunities to harness their potential and learn life skills along the journey’
My Nido Top Three
I love the following things about teaching at Nido…
- Nido Early School’s curriculum allows children to make choices throughout the day and to direct their own learning experience, with the guidance of the nature-inspired learning environment and the educators. This provides a platform for exploration, proactive learning and an amplified sense of curiosity, which will stay with and serve children for life.
- One great aspect of Nido Early School is our focus on inviting parents to take part in the educational process. For example, here at Willetton, we have installed a ‘hopes and dreams’ board on which parents can post milestones they would like their children to achieve, short and long term learning goals etc.
- The ability to make a really big impact on our future generation by providing best quality care.
